Ayurvedic beauty

Ayruveda is is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. It emphasizes good health and prevention and treatment of illness through lifestyle practices (such as massage, meditation, yoga, and dietary changes) and the use of herbal remedies.

This eastern medicine has gained popularity in the West for many years now and is becoming even more popular thanks to the wellness movement that is sweeping across the world. Many beauty brands use Ayurveda as a foundation for their products. Sometimes, they even create products specifically for one of the three doshas or energies. Vata, Pitta, and Kapha are fundamental in Ayurveda, they are the three doshas/energies and we are all made of a unique combination of these three forces.

Many of the Ayurveda beauty brands logically originated from the cradle of the movement, India. However, nowadays, a few western brands have based their foundation on Ayurvedic principles. Let’s have a look at a few of these brands :

Pratima Raichur is a pioneer in the Ayurvedic Skincare field – she has combined her expertise as a chemist, botanist and Ayurvedic doctor to create PRATIMA Skincare – a line of all pure and organic products.

Founder Kiera Nachman Kent—a Brooklyn-based Ayurvedic practitioner specializing in natural skincare, holistic nutrition, energy work, and Ayurvedic prenatal and postpartum care—started out making small batches of custom formulations for her clients.

Rasasara Skinfood’s products are handcrafted in Surrey Hills, Australia, by Sonia Lloyd who experienced the beneficial results of Ayurvedic preparations to heal her own skin over 18 years ago.

Forest Essentials is an Indian cosmetics, skincare and perfume company that specializes in Ayurvedic preparations. It was founded in 2000 by Mira Kulkarni in New Delhi, India and offers a luxury take on Ayurvedic beauty.

Mauli Rituals is an eco-conscious wellness brand fusing Ayurvedic wisdom from India, with a sense of British refinement, with natural products made in England.

OmVeda, an Australian brand, uses pure herbs specifically selected to balance the body, mind and soul. All skin, hair and body care products are made following strict Ayurvedic medicinal guidelines.
