App of the week : Glow

Glow is a data science company offering 4 different mobile apps :

Eve by Glow : a period tracker
Glow : a fertility tracker
Glow Nurture : a pregnancy journal and insights
Glow Baby : a baby’s development tracker

The app believes that : « Although we live in a time when people track everything from diet and weight to the number of steps taken each day, it remains taboo to talk openly about some of the most critical phases of development : menstruation, sex, fertility, pregnancy, parenthood, and beyond. »

The company’s success shows how women are willing to take better control of their health and how taboo subjects are being diminished thanks to technology. Understanding and taking control over one’s cycle and fertility is a trend we have been observing – for instance, with the increase in articles/books/webinars on how the Moon is impacting women’s cycles or with the development of yoga classes dedicated to fertility.
